Re‑establishing the Band in the competitive pipe band world is not a current ambition. In recent years, our focus has been on being a social organisation offering public performances.

Looking good and playing well are mutually supportive priorities in any parade‑style band. Maintaining a band such as ours requires dedication and hard work simply to keep going, and our primary goal is to preserve the Band for as long as possible.

Our values are rooted in heritage, community and commitment. We take pride in maintaining the traditions established by Mansfield and Hazley, and we believe that presentation and musical standard go hand‑in‑hand. As a volunteer‑led organisation, we rely on dedication, reliability and shared responsibility to keep the Band strong for future generations.

Although we are no longer affiliated with the RSPBA, we continue to uphold the standards of conduct, courtesy and professionalism expected within the pipe band community. We believe in supporting every bandsman we meet, and we actively encourage members who wish to progress. For those with the talent and ambition to advance, we offer guidance, external contacts and recognised development opportunities. We will never hold anyone back; instead, we help each player reach the level they aspire to.

To secure the Band’s future and strengthen our standard of performance, we are always looking to recruit new members.

Learners of Bagpipes, Drums or Highland Dancing must be prepared for the patience, commitment and practice required to master each discipline. We are committed to encouraging and nurturing anyone willing to learn, as well as welcoming experienced players who wish to join an enthusiastic, sociable group of like‑minded people.

Tuition is free, and all music, instruments, equipment and uniforms are provided by the Band.
